The 8th district is a really mixed and colourful neighbourhood with a reputation all of its own! Before WW2 it was a neighbourhood with a good reputation and elegant decorated houses. After the war mixed groups of people lived there; the poor, criminals and also immigrants.

Today you can discover here wonderful contemporary buildings and drop in to charming old grocery and cake shops. How diverse and charming one of its most run down quarters appears after a walk through. It is one of the biggest surprises in Budapest.
